On March 21st, 2020, our world-travel journey came to an abrupt end – Covid-19 had the upper hand over the entire globe.
After an evening of watching the Sumo Tournament on TV while eating the freshest sushi in the world served with soul warming sake, we woke up in Tokyo and saw the 70th United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, on television advising all American oversea to return home.
Without missing a beat, I loaded up Google Flight and booked a one-way ticket with American Airlines back to Houston the next day.
As a free spirit couple, we fully understood the fight between the scientists and Covid-19 had proceeded into a perilous stage.
Actually, we started the travel journey in January with the full knowledge Mr. Covid-19 is knocking on the door – as said, we are a free spirit couple.
After returning home, mindfully, we were prepared to face the pandemic long haul with the following 3 key grass root actions –
- Listen to the scientists
- Wear masks
- Keep distance
Our personal war with Covid-19 from March of 2020 to August of 2021 ended, when our “Wanderlust” from within is no longer willing to be subjugated under our Prefrontal Cortex – we are in Bangkok!
In preparation to the losing battle with Mrs. “Wanderlust”, we took the Covid-19 vaccine as soon as it was available to our age group.
Being fully vaccinated, we decided to ride out the Covid-19 pandemic in Asia – of course continuing with the 3 key grass root actions we adopted soon after returning to the States.
The Case for NO Vaccination
The United States is the undisputed beacon of freedom worldwide. This global perspective is achieved through humanity progress accumulating since the Civil War, April 12, 1861 – by law, slavery was abolished as the result of the war.
Since the fateful year of 1861, the United State citizens have enjoyed the ever greater freedom through trials and tribulations, joys and hardships – resulted in passed laws and regulations in most cases faithfully executed on the be half of the average citizens.
No country in the world under the sun has achieved this astonish level of personal freedom for 333,184,572 (and counting) of its citizens.
What made this feat is so amazing is – this massive population is not homogeneous. It is a heterogeneous mass that made up of the all races, all religions and all cultures around the world.
This is the modern version of the American “Civil War”.
The Case for Vaccination
With or without Covid-19, countries around the world will move on. Competitions for resources have been existed since the first day of life on earth.
Each and every country is doing its best to contain the contagious and deadly virus without slowly down its economic engine – including the United States.
With or without Covid-19, eventually …
- We have to go back to work
- Children have to go back to school
- We will eat, travel and experience life with the new normal
As of the 2nd quarter of 2021, United States has made a tremendous progress on vaccination of its citizens and reduced the rate of infection that lead up to many deaths.
Since March of 2021, United States back tracked on personal “FREEDOM” with Federal’s mandates on masks, shut down schools and many entertainment venues.
Stepping into the 3rd quarter of 2021, the Covid-19 Delta Variant came to challenge the progress humanity has edged over the Wuhan’s strain – its late cousin.
With that as the back drop for the remainder of 2021 and possibly the entire 2022 –
What is your next move?
If you are continue to fight for the ever greater personal “FREEDOM” and not willing to get vaccinate, the Delta Variant will get you and you will die.
We will thank you for the sacrifice you have made for the personal “Freedom” we are currently enjoyed and the forever more progress for the upcoming American generations.
As for us, we have decided to eat, travel and experience life with Covid-19 as the new normal – the price we are willing to pay is just a jab in the arm.
